Sample Workshop Names & Descriptors

Yoga for anyBody

During this daily emBodied yoga practice, we will learn and practice tools for befriending our body, deepening capacity for present-centered awareness, and cultivating opportunities for mental, emotional, and physical health and wellness.

Space & Supplies: Participants will need one body’s length of space in all directions: up, down, to the sides, forward, back, lying down. Yoga mats are not required. Simply find a flat, comfortable space where you can move around, lay on your side or back, and potentially find relaxation.

Your Body is Wise -

During this daily emBodied inquiry practice, we will engage in self-inquiry for liberation, transformation, freedom, and empowerment. Example guided inquiry questions include: If you imagined a world where you were liberated, what would that look like? If your body were free, how would it move?

Space & Supplies: Participants will need one body’s length of space in all directions: up, down, to the sides, forward, back, lying down PLUS an unlined journal and writing/drawing/coloring supplies (pen/pencil & crayons).

Nonviolent Communication -

In this life-changing three-part workshop, we will examine unhelpful communication patterns and learn how to better resolve conflicts in all relationships by: stating our own needs (gaining "needs literacy"), sensing the needs of others regardless of how others are expressing themselves, and intuiting the needs of others, and stating proposed solutions or strategies into positive action language in an intentional effort to meet the needs of all parties involved.

Space & Supplies: Participants will need access to a quiet space mostly free from distractions (headphones will suffice).

Mass Media & How It Shapes Us

In this informative two-part workshop series, we will shine a light on, and critically examine, mass media representation of gender norms, love & relationships, and work toward deconstructing the prevalent promotion of sexism, white supremacy, and patriarchal domination.

Space & Supplies: Participants will need an unlined journal and writing/drawing/coloring supplies (pen/pencil & crayons).

Living in Love-

In this transformational two-part workshop, we will explore the working definition of “love,” ways in which we give and receive “love,” spaces and places where “love” feels absent in our lives, and strategies for how to more fully embody a “love ethic” in all areas of our lives. This workshop is rooted in feminist theory and will utilize strategies and ideas promoted by feminist and cultural revolutionary bell hooks.

Space & Supplies: Participants will need an unlined journal and writing/drawing/coloring supplies (pen/pencil & crayons).

Karmic Healing

In this powerful two-part workshop, we will engage in body-centered practices, rooted in sound and movement, to cultivate opportunities for healing ancestral wounds carried in our current physical bodies. Transforming core trauma wounds and cultivating opportunities for healing racial traumas are central themes during this workshop.

Space & Supplies: Participants will need one body’s length of space in all directions: up, down, to the sides, forward, back, lying down PLUS an unlined journal and writing/drawing/coloring supplies (pen/pencil & crayons).

Exploring Identity through Storytelling

In this dynamic four-part workshop, we will explore all of our identity, taking a deep dive into the intersectionality of our identity factors, and workshop creative methods for sharing our stories and reclaiming our narratives. This self-directed autobiographical experience will culminate with virtual storytelling sessions and an opt-in virtual performance art show.

Space & Supplies: Participants will need an unlined journal and writing/drawing/coloring supplies (pen/pencil & crayons). *Participants may craft storytelling pieces designed with other props and supplies at their own discretion.
